Next in the continuing series of “Getting to know you” is Robin, otherwise know as Rob and not to be mistaken for Robert! He joined us in February 2015 and has become a hard and fast member of the team. Get an insight into his mind below.
What about photography interests you?
A photograph is forever.
What do you like to do outside of taking photos?
Attending classic car shows, restoring classic cars, driving classic cars, looking to purchase another classic car or cars. Supporting liverpool, eating, and drinking beer.
Is there a particular style of photography you like?
The photography of Ernst Haas, Welsh photography.
Does anyone/anything inspire you?
Ernst Haas, Henri Cartier Bresson, Clint Eastwood, my corvette, Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Welsh Tabernacle Choir, the Rhona Dragons.
Has working at Castle Cameras improved or inspired your photography?
Yes, although I haven’t implemented that feeling, too busy mucking around with cars.
How do you get to work?
By car, or my self-propelled doc martins that I invented.
When and where is your next holiday? Are you taking your camera?
Croatia and yes
Film or digital and why?
Both. Digital complicates things but gives you more choice. Film smells nice
Name one thing you love about your job and one thing you would change?
Wednesday chicken shack (chicken and blues, chicken R us or whatever they call themselves) Turning the fans off on Kodak machines….hang on….we’ve done that!
