FUJIFILM Graphite Silver X-T2 & X-Pro2 Announcement

Fujifilm launches Graphite Silver Editions of the X-T2 and X-Pro2 flagship interchangeable lens cameras

Fujifilm’s flagship X-Series models will be available in luxurious graphite silver versions for the most discerning photographer

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) is proud to announce the launch of graphite silver versions of the highly covetable X-T2 and X-Pro2 mirrorless digital cameras.

The elegant FUJIFILM X-T2 Graphite Silver Edition is supplied with stylish tailor-made accessories whilst the FUJIFILM X-Pro2 Graphite Silver Edition includes the compact, fast and lightweight interchangeable lens of the same colour, the FUJINON XF23mm F2 R WR.

Luxurious and elegant graphite silver flagship models, finished by hand

The iconic Graphite Silver texture and refined shimmer is achieved via a multi-layer coating, which goes through a dedicated and unique process:

A matte black undercoat is applied to the die cast magnesium top cover, which delivers deep, rich shadows and colours across the camera body.
Using Thin-Film Multilayer Coating Technology*1, the silver texture is then added.  The ultra-fine particles of graphite are applied via a high speed, rotating computer-controlled system, to produce an incredibly smooth and elegant feel.
The final third layer is a clear, glossy varnish which delivers a luxurious and tactile finish.  Finishing touches such as the logo are coloured by hand.

X-Pro2 Graphite Silver Edition

FUJIFILM X-T20 – Key Features

Compact and lightweight camera body with an SLR-style viewfinder and dial-based operation

・ The design of the compact and lightweight body bears all the hallmarks of an X Series camera. Both top and base plates are made of lightweight, but highly rigid magnesium alloy.
・ The top plate features three precision-milled aluminium dials which give the X-T20 a premium feel and allow users to easily adjust the aperture, shutter speed and shooting functions while concentrating on picture taking.
・ The Drive Dial has a new Video position to switch between still photo shooting and video recording. The Exposure Compensation Dial also has a new C position to enable exposure compensation of up to ±5 stops in 1/3 steps when using the Front Command Dial. Regular exposure compensation of up to ±3 stops in 1/3 steps is available on the top-plate dial.
・The FUJIFILM X-T20 features a 3.0-inch 1.04M-dot tilting TFT colour LCD monitor suitable for both above head and close to the ground shooting. By combining the Touch Shot function with the tilt LCD monitor, you can get even more creative. Place the camera on the ground and use Touch Shot for a child’s or pet’s eye view or hold it above a crowd of people or an obstacle for high-angle shooting.
・ It is also equipped with an Auto mode Selector lever for selecting the fully-automatic Advanced SR Auto mode. In this mode, the camera automatically chooses the optimum settings for a given scene to make shooting effortless.
・ With a magnification of 0.62x※5 and a display lag time of just 0.005sec, the X-T20 has a large, fast viewfinder. It offers a clear, high-definition live view image thanks to the 2.36million-dot organic EL electronic viewfinder, plus visibility has been improved by automatically controlling finder brightness according to the ambient light levels.
・ The live view display can also be set to the ‘Preview Pic Effect’ option to reflect the shooting conditions and offer a natural view close to that of the naked eye. The viewfinder’s eye sensor automatically orientates the information when the camera is held vertically; something that’s not possible on models with optical viewfinders.
・ The body features an integral pop-up flash, positioned in the centre of the top plate. The Super Intelligent Flash automatically adjusts light output according to the scene type

※5 Viewfinder magnification ratio. Approx. 0.62x magnification 50mm (35mm format equivalent) at infinity and diopter set to -1.0 m-1.

Intuitive operation with the touchscreen display
・ The LCD monitor uses a capacitive touchscreen panel to facilitate high-angle shots, taken from above a crowd of people or an obstacle, as well as low-angle shots simulating the perspective of small children or pets.
・ Turning the TOUCH SCREEN SETTING on allows the following operations during shooting and playback modes:

Shooting Modes
・Focus Area Selection: Move the focus point to the chosen position by tapping the LCD monitor.
・Touch Focus:Touch to focus on a specific point.
・Touch Shot: Touch to focus on a specific point, then take the picture.
Playback Modes
・Swipe Movement : Swiping a finger across the screen scrolls through the images, one after another.
・Double-Tap Enlargement: Tapping the screen twice will enlarge the image, on the active focus point when the image was taken.
・Drag: Moving a finger across the screen when an image is enlarged will move it around the frame.
・Pinch out: Placing two fingers on the screen and widening the distance between them enlarges the image.
・Pinch in: While the image being displayed is enlarged, placing two fingers on the screen and narrowing the distance between them reduces the image size.
・Turn the “TOUCH SCREEN SETTING” off to cancel all touchscreen operations.
・Even during video recording, activate the Touch AF to change the focus area and refocusing according to subject movement.

Outstanding photo quality, achieved by the X Series’ highest image resolution, the high-speed X-Processor Pro image processing engine and Fujifilm’s colour reproduction technology, perfected through over 80 years’ experience in photographic film development

・ The FUJIFILM X-T20 features Fujifilm’s 24.3MP X-Trans™ CMOS III APS-C sensor. Its highly random pixel array effectively reduces moiré and false colours without the use of an optical low-pass filter. The elimination of the low pass filter, which is attributed to loss of image resolution, makes it possible to draw the very best out of FUJINON lenses.
・ Fujifilm’s proprietary colour reproduction technology, developed through producing photographic films, helps to reproduce warm skin tones, bright blue skies and rich green foliage, just as you remember seeing in real life.
・ The Film Simulation function now features the ACROS mode. Using the X-Processor Pro’s advanced processing capability, the mode offers smooth gradation, deep blacks and beautiful textures to create monochrome images superior to the standard Monochrome mode.
・ The FUJIFILM X-T20 also has the Grain Effect function for reproducing distinctive graininess seen in photographs taken with film cameras. The function can be set to Strong or Weak, and can be combined with any of the Film Simulation modes. You can easily obtain the look of film-based photos, with the effect most obvious when the image is printed out.
・ The new sensor’s enhanced signal processing technology has even greater control over digital noise. Improved ISO sensitivity means ISO12800, only available as an extended ISO on the X-T10, is now available as a regular ISO option. At ultra-high ISO settings, the camera produces low-noise images, with deep blacks and smooth tones, delivering beautiful images even in low light conditions.
・ The camera features the unique Lens Modulation Optimizer (LMO)*6 image processing technology to deliver the best possible image quality. Using optical performance and other characteristics of each lens, LMO corrects optical defects such as diffraction*7 to achieve edge-to-edge sharpness and a realistic three-dimensional effect.

※6 Unique signal processing technology that reproduces the sharpness of images blurred by diffraction, etc.

Improved AF performance for the moving subjects

・ The number of focusing points has been dramatically expanded from 49 in the previous model to 91 (up to 325 points).  Approx. 40% of the imaging area (the centre area containing 49 focusing points) is covered with phase detection AF pixels to form a fast and precise phase detection AF area that can be used in a variety of scenes.

・ By redesigning the AF algorithm from the ground up, the FUJIFILM X-T20 can now autofocus more accurately on points of light, low-contrast objects and subjects with fine details such as bird feathers and animal fur. The read speed of the Contrast AF system, which covers approx. 85% of the entire frame, has been doubled*7 compared to the previous model to enable faster and more accurate autofocusing. During video recording, the AF point transitions smoothly to track a moving subject to create natural looking footage.
・ You can choose from the Single Point mode, useful when accurate focusing on a subject is required, Zone mode for capturing a decisive moment of a moving subject, as well as Wide / Tracking mode.
・ Zone mode allows users to select a 3×3, 5×5 or 7×7 zone out of the 91-point AF area. The centrally positioned 3×3 and 5×5 zones, in particular, deliver fast focusing thanks to the on-sensor phase detection AF. The Wide/Tracking mode is a combination of the Wide mode (during AF-S), in which the camera automatically identifies and tracks the area in focus across the 91-point AF area, and the predictive Tracking mode (during AF-C), which uses the entire 91-point area to continue tracking a subject. This feature enables continuous focusing on a subject that is moving up and down, left and right or towards and away from the camera.
・ The FUJIFILM X-T20 features the AF-C Custom setting, which enhances focus tracking performance when shooting in the Continuous AF (AF-C)*8 mode.  In the AF-C Custom setting, you can choose from five AF presets, prepared for different types of subject movements. Preset 1 (Standard Setting for Multi-Purpose) is a standard setting that can be applied when shooting moving subjects as a whole.  It is similar to the conventional AF-C setting, and is selected by default when no AF-C Custom setting is specified. Preset 2 (Ignore Obstacles & Continue to Track Subject) is suitable when obstacles are likely to come into a selected focus area, blocking a subject. Preset 3 (For Accelerating / Decelerating Subjects) is best suited to situations such as motorsport, which involves a subject that makes major speed changes including rapid acceleration or deceleration. It is particularly effective when using linear motor-driven lenses capable of high-speed AF. Preset 4 (For Suddenly Appearing Subjects) gives focusing priority to a subject closest to the camera in the selected focus area, so as to swiftly focus on a subject that suddenly comes into the frame. Preset 5 (For Erratically Moving & Accelerating or Decelerating Subjects) is suitable for shooting field sports in which subjects accelerate or decelerate rapidly, and also move erratically.
・ The FUJIFILM X-T20 offers the Eye Detection AF function for automatically detecting and focusing on human eyes.  The function has three options: AUTO, Right Eye Priority and Left Eye Priority. In the AUTO mode, it automatically focuses on a subject’s eye closer to the camera to achieve beautiful bokeh in the background when shooting with wide apertures.
・ The Auto Macro function automatically activates the Macro mode while maintaining AF speed, eliminating any need to press the Macro button to capture a close-up. This allows you to re-assign the Macro button to a different function.
・ The unique on-sensor phase detection AF system focuses in an ultra-fast 0.06 sec*8 With the high-speed X-Processor Pro image processor, the camera starts up in just 0.4sec, has a shutter time lag of 0.050sec and shooting interval of 0.25sec
※7 Models carrying the X-TransTM CMOS II sensor and the EXR Processor II
※8 AF system continuously focuses while pressing the shutter button halfway.

High-definition 4K video recording with rich colour tones

・ The use of Fujifilm’s unique sensor and image processing engine enables both Full HD (1920 x 1080)  and 4K (3840 x 2160) video recording. Set the Drive Dial to “Movie” and select the 4K Video mode in the menu to record 4K video at the high bitrate of 100Mbps
・ Connect the camera to an external HDMI monitor and turn on HDMI Rec Control to automatically enable a clean HDMI output when the camera’s shutter release button is pressed. This makes it easy to start 4K video recording at precisely the right time.
・ The Film Simulation modes, popular for still images, can also be applied to video recordings. For example, you can use Classic Chrome to add a documentary touch with subdued colors and rich tones, or ACROS to produce stunning monochrome footage with smooth gradation of tones and deep blacks. A total of nine different modes are available
・ Full HD video can be recorded at 59.94 fps, 50 fps, 29.97 fps, 25 fps, 24 fps and 23.98 fps.

FUJIFILM X100F-Silver-Front-Left

FUJIFILM X100F announced

FUJIFILM X100F announced – the powerful new addition to the X Series range of Premium Compact Cameras

FUJIFILM X100F-Silver-FrontSmall yet powerful, the FUJIFILM X100F features the latest 24.3 megapixel sensor and processor, and further evolution of the renowned Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder, which can switch between optical and electronic viewfinders.

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) today announces the launch of the latest premium compact digital camera – the FUJIFILM X100F in February 2017.

Fujifilm pioneered a new market segment of premium compact digital cameras in March 2011 with the launch of the FUJIFILM X100, equipped with an APS-C image sensor, high-speed image processing engine, high-performance FUJINON lens and the world’s first Hybrid Viewfinder that can be switched between an optical viewfinder and an electronic viewfinder.

In February 2013, the second-generation model in the series, FUJIFILM X100S, was released with a newly-developed sensor and image processing engine.  The company updated the series in September 2014 with the launch of the FUJIFILM X100T, boasting the use of the world’s first electronic rangefinder function, in an effort to constantly lead the segment of premium compact digital cameras with cutting-edge technologies.

The fourth-generation release of the series, X100F, features the latest image sensor and high-speed image processing engine to deliver the highest level of image quality and mobility in the series. This is the ultimate in premium compact digital camera, equipped with the Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder of enhanced convenience.  While maintaining the elegant design that has proven to be popular, the new camera has been developed in pursuit for easy operability, reflecting requests from users of previous models.

Key features on the FUJIFILM X100F

Fujifilm’s excellent reproduction of colours and gradation of tones capture premium image quality in both stills and video recording

The FUJIFILM X100F features the 24.3MP X-Trans™ CMOS III*1, an APS-C sensor with no low-pass filter boasting the highest performance in the history of the X Series, as well as the X-Processor Pro high-speed image processing engine to deliver outstanding colour reproduction and gradation of tones in both stills and videos with high ISO sensitivity and low noise. The Film Simulation modes, developed with Fujifilm’s philosophy of colour reproduction nurtured in over 80 years of photo film research, have further evolved to capture a subject’s textures, three-dimensional feel and even the atmosphere surrounding it.

Perfect for snapshots with quick response and enhanced AF performance

Basic response specifications have been enhanced to the extreme in the X100F. A start-up time of approx. 0.5 seconds, shooting interval of 0.2 seconds** , shutter release time lag of 0.01 seconds** and fastest AF of 0.08 seconds, ensure the camera operates exactly as the photographer intends.
The number of focusing points has been dramatically expanded from 49 in previous models to 91 (up to 325 points). Approx. 40% of the imaging area (center area containing 49 focusing points) is covered with phase detection AF pixels to form a fast and precise phase detection AF area that can be used in a variety of scenes.

Evolution of the Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder

You can now change the magnification of the electronic rangefinder, shown in a small window as EVF at the bottom right corner of the optical viewfinder, for enhanced accuracy when checking the focus.  The Real Time Parallax※2 Correction function is applied to the focus area in addition to the guide frame to enable assured framing and focusing in the Manual Focus mode.

Intuitive and practical operability

New features in the X100F include the Built-In ISO Dial, incorporated into the Shutter Speed Dial reminiscent of film cameras of yesteryear, the Focus Lever, which allows you to instantaneously move the focus area without having to take your eye off the viewfinder, and the “C” position for enabling ±5 stop exposure compensation.  Most of the operation-related buttons and dials are concentrated on the right-hand side to allow quick change of settings while firmly holding the camera.

※2 The gap between the shooting range frame and actual shooting range when shooting close up.

Main features

Integrating the image sensor boasting the highest resolution in the X Series, the high-speed image processing engine “X-Processor Pro” and image design technology developed from over 80 years of photographic film production to achieve ultimate image quality.

The FUJIFILM X100F features Fujifilm’s 24.3MP X-Trans™ CMOS III APS-C sensor. Its highly random pixel array effectively reduces moiré and false colours without the use of an optical low-pass filter. The elimination of the low pass filter, which is attributed to loss of image resolution, makes it possible to draw out FUJINON lenses’ true capabilities to the maximum extent. Coupled with the high-speed image processing engine “X-Processor Pro,” the X100F produces image quality comparable to that of cameras equipped with a larger sensor with higher pixel count.
Fujifilm’s proprietary colour reproduction technology, developed through the producing photographic films, helps to reproduce warm skin tones, bright blue skies and rich green foliage in beautiful colours, just as you remember seeing in real life.
The Film Simulation function now features the ACROS mode. Using X-Processor Pro’s advanced processing capability, the mode offers smooth gradation, deep blacks and beautiful textures to create monochrome images that far outperform the previous Monochrome mode.
The FUJIFILM X100F also has the Grain Effect function for reproducing distinctive graininess seen in photographs taken with film cameras. The function is available in “Strong” and “Weak,” and can be combined with any of the Film Simulation modes. You can easily obtain the effect of film-based photos, notable especially when the image is printed out.
Despite having the pixel count 1.5 times that of the X100T, the new device and its enhanced signal processing technology have successfully controlled digital noise even further. Improved ISO sensitivity means ISO12800, which was part of extended ISOs in the FUJIFILM X100T, is now available as a regular ISO option. Even at ultra-high ISO settings, the camera produces low-noise images, reproducing deep blacks and smooth gradation of tones, capturing beautiful images even in low light conditions.

Perfect for snapshots with quick response and enhanced AF performance

Enhancement in response performance
Basic response specifications have been enhanced to the extreme in the FUJIFILM X100F. A startup time of approx. 0.5 seconds, shooting interval of 0.2 seconds and shutter release time lag of 0.01 seconds, ensure the camera operates exactly as the photographer intends.

Improvement in basic AF performance
The number of focusing points has been dramatically expanded from 49 in previous models※3 to 91 (up to 325 points). Approx. 40% of the imaging area (center area containing 49 focusing points) is covered with phase detection AF pixels to form a fast and precise phase detection AF area that can be used in a variety of scenes.
The FUJIFILM X100F has an enhanced ability to autofocus on points of light, low-contrast objects and subjects with fine and delicate textures such as bird feathers and animal fur, which have been the weakness of phase detection AF.
The performance of contrast detection AF, covering approx. 85% of the imaging area, has also been improved. The data read speed has been doubled compared to previous models to achieve AF performance of higher speed and precision. Accurate focusing is obtained even at the low light condition of -3EV.
Six AF modes to be selected according to the type of scenes
The FUJIFILM X100F offers AF-S for stationary subjects and AF-C for moving subjects.  For both of these options, you can choose either “Single Point” or “Zone” mode for the type of focus area, as well as the “Wide / Tracking” mode, in which the camera automatically selects multiple areas for focusing.  In the Single Point and Zone modes, use the Focus Lever beside the LCD monitor to instantaneously change the location and size of focus areas.
※3 Models carrying the X-TransTM CMOS II sensor and the EXR Processor II.

Evolution of the Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder
The FUJIFILM X100F uses the Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder, which combines the features of an optical viewfinder (OVF) and electronic viewfinder (EVF).  Operate the Viewfinder selector at the front of the camera body to instantly switch between the OVF and EVF.
In the Electronic Rangefinder (ERF) mode, the EVF is displayed as a small window at the bottom right corner of the optical viewfinder to facilitate accurate focusing using Focus Peaking and Digital Split Image even in the OVF.  The small EVF window can display 100% field of view as well as in 2.5x and 6x magnifications.  You can also check exposure and white balance in the EVF window, making it the ultimate viewfinder that provides all the benefits of the EVF while shooting photos through the OVF, which offers zero time lag and crisp view.
The viewfinder offers automatic real-time correction of parallax, the gap between the guide frame and actual shooting range when shooting close up.  This Real Time Parallax Correction function is now applied to the focus area in addition to the guide frame to enable assured framing and focusing in the Manual Focus mode.
The EVF’s frame rate has been boosted to 60 fps. Even in low light, the high frame rate is maintained for easy framing in night shooting, etc.

FUJIFILM X100F-Black-Back

Intuitive and practical operability and camera body with luxurious tactile feel.
The layout of the camera’s rear face has been overhauled to concentrate most of the frequently-used buttons and dials to the right-hand side.  This allows you to change the camera settings quickly while holding the camera firmly without having to take your eye off the viewfinder.
The FUJIFILM X100F features the Built-In ISO Dial, which is incorporated into the Shutter Speed Dial, reminiscent of film cameras from yesteryear.  You now don’t have to power on the camera to check ISO as well as aperture, shutter speed and exposure compensation settings at a glance.
Set the ISO Dial to “A” and select “Command” in the ISO DIAL SETTING (A) in the camera menu, to enable quick ISO adjustments with the Command Dial at the front of the camera body within the range of regular sensitivity levels from ISO200 to ISO12800 in the increment of 1/3 stops.
The Focus Lever is positioned on the rear side of the camera body. Use joystick-type operations in eight directions (up / down, right / left and diagonally) to instantaneously move the focus area.
The Exposure Compensation Dial now has the Command Dial Position.  Set the Dial to “C” position to enable exposure compensation adjustments with the Command Dial at the front of the camera body, and also expand the exposure compensation range to ±5 stops.

FUJIFILM X100F-Silver-TopThe camera body’s top and bottom plates are made of lightweight, strong and highly durable magnesium alloy.  Special coatings have been applied to the surface to create a steel-like texture.

The camera’s external surface has a leather-like finish using synthetic leather for excellent resistance to the elements and high durability.  While reproducing the feel and look of genuine leather, the finish also provides the practical benefit of slip resistance and comfortable hold.

Every component is “made in Japan” for high reliability, finished with advanced precision and tactile quality.

The AF-S NIKKOR 105mm f/1.4E ED is a worthy successor to Nikon’s famed NIKKOR 105mm f/2.5  lens. Whether photographers are working with available light or in the studio, the all-new optical construction delivers unrivalled edge-to-edge sharpness and exquisite bokeh. The 105 mm focal length and 1 m shortest focusing distance allow for frame-filling head-shots without the need to crop. Wide-open performance is unbeatable, and subjects are rendered with perfect clarity even when shooting at the widest aperture.

In order to ensure optimum performance in portrait mode, Nikon’s engineers have paid special attention to resolution at the outer areas of the frame. As a result, Sagittal coma flare  is effectively minimised for superior reproduction of point light sources as fine rounded points, even at the edges of an image. Peripheral light falloff  is controlled to retain brightness across the frame, even when shooting at maximum aperture with focus set to infinity. Thanks to the unique optical design, the intensity of image blur transitions smoothly for bokeh with no rough edges. Images are rendered with a depth and dimension that’s truly memorable.

The 105mm F1.4 is expected to ship in late August with a £2049.99

These lenses are a big deal for Sony camera users, particular those with full-frame Sony mirrorless A7-series models. The 70-200mm has three advanced lens elements including XA, Super ED, and ED glass components, as well as its Nano AR coating. It features a floating focusing system – a first for a Sony zoom lens – that contributes to a minimum focusing distance of 0.96 meters and ensures AF performance is optimised during still and video shooting, Sony says. The lens includes a Super Sonic Motor (SSM) plus dual linear motors that work together to move large lens elements quickly. It has built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation and a rotating tripod mount that allows the camera to be quickly removed from a connected tripod as needed. The telephoto zoom is dust and moisture resistant with an additional fluorine coating added to the front lens. It also has a focus hold button as well as a focal range limiter.
