Fans of motorsport photography will be gathering in Bournemouth and Poole this weekend for the eagerly anticipated Rallye Sunseeker 2010 event.
Now in its 25th year, this event is part of the 2010 MSA Gravel Rally Championship and will be a chance to see some of Dorset’s finest rally drivers in action, competing against rivals from across the UK.
Competitors include Marcus Dodd from Poole, with co-driver Andrew Bargery from Hove, who are among the favourites to take the title they lost last year to Will Nicholls and Nick Broom from the Isle of Wight – especially because Nicholls and Broom will not be entering this year.
Motor sport is one of the most fascinating subjects for sports photographers, not just because of the break-neck pace of the action, but also because of the range of cars competing.
The event begins with a ceremony at Poole Quayside this Friday, 26th February, starting at 6.15pm, before the rally itself gets underway on Saturday morning, around the forests and stately homes of Ringwood. The winner will be crowned in Bournemouth town centre at about 5.30pm on Saturday.
You can find full details of the event at the official website.
